Prison Phone Update
Join our policy advisor Cheryl Leanza and our allies at Nation Inside and over 350 grassroots activists on a webinar tomorrow. As you know, the UCC has a long successful history in communications advocacy--be part of FCC action to cap phone rates is slated for this fall, and our voices and action are needed.
Sign up for the Campaign for Prison Phone Justice’s briefing on July 21, 2015, from 2:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. EST, to hear an important update and to learn what action steps can be taken. Now is the time to mobilize for fair phone rates for those residing behind bars and their loved ones! Hundreds of thousands of U.S. families will be impacted by an upcoming ruling by the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) on the cost of in-state phone calls. At stake are the millions of dollars being charged to families trying to stay connected.

We are still looking for a few more faith leaders from the Washington DC area to join a delegation to the FCC in September. We are looking for a few lay or clergy UCC leaders to join a bigger delegation to visit the Federal Communications Commission in Washington DC to advocate for lower prison phone rates. Email us at firstname.lastname@example.org with "prison phone delegation" in the subject line.
